Pablo Gregorian

The Dutch-Armenian tenor Pablo Gregorian discovered his love for singing when he joined the Orchestra and Choir of Utrecht University while studying Theoretical Physics and Geosciences. He finished his Bachelor in Early Music singing at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. Currently he is pursuing a master degree in Classical singing at CODARTS, Rotterdam, where he studies with Marcel Reijans.

This season Pablo Gregorian performed Schubert’s iconic song auf dem Strom on the International Chamber Music Festival Schiermonnikoog together with Mees Vos (horn) and Caspar Vos (piano). Together with Henriëtte Wirth (baroque harp, piano) he appeared in a recital with seventeenth century Italian songs and an online concert of Schubert’s Winterreise. He appeared as a soloist in a tour through The Netherlands with Apollo Ensemble performing G.P. Telemann’s Brockes-Passion. Furthermore, he sang in a semi-staged performance of J.S. Bach’s St. John Passion with members of the Dutch Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Las Palmas (Gran Canaria). He was also a soloist in a fully staged theatre performance of madrigals by C. Monteverdi directed by Michael Chance. Recently, Pablo Gregorian will be soloist in a recording of St. John Passion with Apollo Ensemble.

As an ensemble singer he has recently recorded a CD with Hieronymus Ensemble and is affiliated with the Netherlands Bach Society.

Furthermore, he sang in Bach’s B-minor mass directed by Ton Koopman and Handel’s Dixit Dominus with Cappella Amsterdam. Last season he joined the choir of Ribattuta Musica in their performances of Bach’s Weihnachtsoratorium and Handel’s Messiah.
